In kendo we don’t wear belts as part of the uniform. The only thing that distinguishes one kendoka’s ability from another is – their ability 🙂
That being said, we do receive certificates when we’ve achieved a new rank.
Two of our students achieved new ranks at last November’s grading. They were presented with those certificates last night.

At the end of the day, a piece of paper is just that. It is one’s attitude and ability demonstrated in the dojo that shows everyone your level of kendo.
