Katanaerobics

This is a cardio program we're putting together based on traditional stances and strikes used in Kendo, Iaido and Kenjutsu.

You'll start off by learning basic postures and strikes. From there, you'll segue from position to position in a low-impact, non-contact routine that will get your heart pumping and give you a full body workout. You'll use a wooden sword to perform the moves.

There will be a cool-down and stretching section at the end of the class.

This is a great workout both physically and mentally. Slash away your stress and mentally cut down the things that are bothering you.

Classes will initially be offered in St. Catharines at St. Andrew's United Church on Saturday mornings from 9:00 ~ 10:00 a.m. If there is interest at our Welland location we may open a day classes during the week. The cost is $20 / month (no taxes) and we require a minimum of 5 students to run the class. Wooden swords will be provided although we encourage students to purchase their own.
